Healthy Living Support

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving holiday!

Many of you know my heart in helping people heal and stay healthy naturally. It has been a passion of mine for nearly 20 years. It helped me heal from 9 years of infertility, and so much more. My passion for natural remedies was birthed from watching my Grandmother. She loves herbs, homesteading, and healthy living and even wrote a book many years ago that she handed out at campgrounds and to friends and family.

My desire to help others live a healthy lifestyle also stemmed from working as the social service director first in a health department serving women and children (1991-1992), and then in a nursing facility (1993-1996) for the elderly and also for the mentally disabled and watching folks die from the side effects of being over medicated and downward spiral of medical conditions that were not improved by the dietary and pharmaceutical interventions.

Another huge influence on my journey was made by my husband’s mother. I cared for my mother in-law who had breast cancer for the last year of her life in my home (1996-1997), and with each chemo pill and pain pill she took, I watched the life in her eyes diminish bit by bit until she took her last breath in March of 1997. I was so broken hearted from loosing her and knew deep down there was a better way to deal with illness from some of the “all natural/ green living” friends I was making. Her death was the turning point for me to abandon cultural norms of hospitals and doctor’s offices to heal disease and instead view them as beneficial for trauma centers, but not healthly life centers.

In 1993-1997 I was friends with a 75 year old neighbor who had farmed organically all his life and sold Organic Gardner and Mother Earth News magazines for many years. He was “green” before anyone knew what it was to be green. He owned a campground near Muncie, IN and farmed and sold his produce to a local nursing home and folks who came to his campground and farm. I spent a lot of time learning from him and his wife. They gave me tips on organic gardening, pursuing a “greener” life, and really helped me a lot.

In 1995 I began meeting Amish folks who turned to natural medicine as the cure for most of their healthy living needs. This was life changing for me too. I would spend two or three days aweek in their homes learning. They thought they were just teaching me about making bread, canning, gardening, etc. But in reality, they were teaching me a life of healthy natural living I was dying to know. I did’t agree with the bondage of their Amish Church, instead I have freedom in Jesus, so that was not a draw for me. By watching them, I had made a connection with the knowledge of generations gone by who knew how to make home remedies to handle sickness, and knew how to eat to avoid most sickness. I found answers!

The life of living with locally raised food, home births, kids who were occupied with phycial self directed playtime, and also the productivity of chores instead of sitting with TV, who go to bed at a good hour and rise in the mornings rested, respect for each other, adults who came together as a community to support one another, and who found answers to thier sickness and diseases by using herbs and diet, were able to live a way of life that seldom needed attention from hospitals and regular checkups or sick visits to a clinic. This inspired me.

All Americans should have this knowledge. It is the knowledge all cultures possessed until just two hundred years ago, when western hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies became the focus of our faith. Somehow Americans have turned over their basic health care to the local doctor who is controlled to a high degree by pharmecutical companies selling man made synthetic ingredients to control disease, but never heal disease, and ultimately secondary side effects of those medications develop into knew life threatening disease and so on. When I left my carrer in the nursing facility, on average, each patient was taking 21 different prescription medications. Each medication had a side effect and needed a different medication to counteract it. This is the life today in America. It is no longer just the elderly who are over medicated, it is even our babies and children. Every public school and daycare now tells the parents their children must be vaccinated, and to put many of their kids on medication to make them sit still in a classroom. The numbers of kids on medications is astounding! Over use of medication is an epidemic in our country and it is getting worse. Babies are now vaccinated with over 40 man made toxic medications before the age of 2. Autism, a brain disorder that affects speach, behavior, and the ability to sit still now affect 1 in 48 boys and 1 in68 gilrs, or an average of 1 in 55 children. Do what? America, wake up!

After applying what I learned from the Amish and my organic focussed friends, I made some tough decisions. I stopped taking presecription medications for colds and flus. I stopped taking over the counter medications for headaches and other illnesses too. Instead, I found a natural medication in herbs and foods to deal with each illness that arose. I soon overcame infertility and became pregnant in 1999, and gave birth to our first child in 2000. That was a miricle. I had been married for 9 years with no pregnancy and the doctor diagnosed me as infertile. But I wasn’t infertile, instead I was malnurished and toxic from the American lifestyle. Once I detoxed and ate nourishing foods, my body did what it was designed to do, to heal and reproduce.

As more folks found out that I had been healed by the Lord and using the wisdom of returning to traditional foods (local food, grassfed meats, eggs, and raw milk, fermented foods, etc) and using herbs for tea and remedies for health, others wanted my resources and sales for food and herbs grew into a stronger business. By 2004 I opened a healthy food and herbal remedy store and coop called Weiser Natural Foods, and God has surely used these life experiences and knowledge to bless my life and many others I have shared with.

As you well know, seasons in our life change. The past few years of moving and having birthed 6 kids and 2 miscarriages have brought new challenges and adaptations. But some things never change, and I am still as passionate about healthy living and natural cures and raising natural foods as I have ever been. Though I don’t currently have a store walk in anymore, perhaps I will be able to open a walk in store again someday. For now I am getting resettled on a certified organic homestead in Richmond, Indiana and getting my feet back under me. I have dreams of a solar greenhouse, hydroponics and aquaponics, and educational workshops too. But until that day comes, I will be reaching out and sharing great products with you and teach healthy living tips, and help as many people as I can.

Jay is an aerospace scientist and worked on Nasa’s Appollo Moon Project. Through amazing photographs and scientific and biblical truths, he helps us to see the richness of God’s creation as can be understood once a person can see the amazing pieces of the puzzle. For many, it can be difficult to understand how God could have created the universe and created it in seven days. But Jay takes us through the process and shows how science lines up with the scriptures. The photography that Jay shares is amazing. This is a book you will want to leave out on display to share with folks who stop by your home. It is stunning.

How We Used Puposeful Design:

I read through the book with my children.  We spent a couple of weeks learning about each day in creation. There is a lot of science, scripture, and a lot of beauty packed into this book.  We love learning about space and I was very impressed with the space photos.

Purposeful Design planets

I was really greatful for the free downloadable curriculum too. The curriculum broke the book down into teachable units with questions, discussions, and a few activites to further the learning. I printed everything off and stored it in a handy three ring binder for easy use. There were also certificates of completion that correspond to each day of creation in the Young Explorer’s Club curriculum and a final certificate of achievement too. These are nice progress achievments to add to your studnets portfollio.

moon

I was so impressed with this book that I decided to take it to our Homeschool Coop class. We did a focus on space exploration and studied about the lights in the heavens specifically the creation of the SUN, MOON, and STARS and how they give us light and control the seasons.  We studies the verses in the bible about DAY FOUR of CREATION found in Genesis 1:14-19. This book went with our study perfectly.

IMG_3237 - Copy

I brought the free downloadable curriculum questions I had put into my binder, and gathered up a few props to go with the book including coloring pages, flash cards, space display, earth and moon in space puzzles, space sensory bin, and more to our class.

IMG_3297 - Copy

The kids really enjoyed looking at the photographs of space in the book.  They also enjoyed creating their own space exploration to learn more about the amazing universe God has designed.

IMG_3239 - CopyIMG_3240 - Copy

Wouldn’t it be cool to visit some of the places in space that God created like the moon? I think it would be cool too to go into space with a scientist who believes in God and understands the scriptures and who is experienced with planets, moons, stars, and galaxies and see all of it first hand.

The kids pretended that Jay was joining them for a space adventure and divided into two teams (5 white astronauts and 5 orange astronauts) to create an exploration all terain vehicals with Legos to explore the moon, and create a space exploration diorama. Kids learn so much more and remember what they have learned when they can use several of their senses in the learning process. Sharing the pictures from the book, putting together a puzzle of the moon and the earth, creating vehicals and pretending we were taking a trip to explore the moon that God created made the learning experience all the more memorable.

I love this book! I would encourage every homeschool family and Sunday School Class and Bible Study group to get a hold of one these books and learn about our amazing Creator and his Purposeful Design in Creation.

Fascinating Education Physics Review

My oldest son loves science. He was so excited that we were offered the opportunity to review Fascinating Physics by Fascinating Education.

Fascinating Education

Fascinating Education was created by a Dr. Margulies. He is an author, teacher, attorney, and a neurologist and knows the brain and how it functions best when learning information and performing tasks.

Dr. Margulies

Dr. Margulies has taught neurology to thousands of medical students in his 35 year teaching career and trained doctors to work in neurology. He focuses on interactive right brain methods of learning primordially audio visual methods with questions and answer. He supplements the audio-visual methods with written text. Dr. Margulies is especially skilled to teach science. He has an extensive background and understanding of the brain. He wants to use his knowledge to create programs that inspire the younger generation to pursue science related careers and study of science.

Please check out his ABOUT DR. SHELDON MARGULIES web page to learn more about his qualifications, degrees, experience, books he has authored, and his passions. He is a fascinating person with an incredible amount of experience and insight in many areas. It is so fitting that he would inspire others to learn about science with the creation of Fascinating Education courses.

science courses

Fascinating Education currently offers science courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You can see each coarse outline and free sample lessons from each course on their web site. You can also enjoy using another 5 free lessons on the INTRO page.

How We Used Fascinating Physics:

We received a one year subscription to Fascinating Physics for the purpose of writing this review. All my kids love science, but my oldest especially loves science. He wants to know the “WHY” of behind every thing. He was really happy to get the opportunity to take this Physics course. Each day he logged in and watched the videos, learned the terminology, and completed his tasks without being prompted by me.

lesson 3

He is finishing up lesson three and that is about 18 of the 160 or so subjects. I feel he is getting a good handle on being familiar with the terminology. He takes his time and often repeats the videos to be sure he has learned all of the information. I think learning the terminology is the key to grasping an understanding of the videos.

elevator cable

I would definitely recommend this curriculum. It is wonderful to have courses on line because you can access them anytime day or night to work on your assignments. I guess I am a bit biased favorite class in school was always science. I want to know “HOW” things work and “WHY”. If you asked me about almost any subject today like cooking, bible, health, gardening, etc. I would tell you the science behind it. That is just me…cooking science, science of health, science of gardening, even science in the bible. I love science. My favorite kind of TV shows are ones that show the science of how things happen like “How It Works” “How Its Made”, “Good Eats”, “Myth Busters”, “Time Warp”, etc. So I am very happy for my son to take this class and I get to glean totally AWESOME Science with him. The only thing I would change is that I would include a lot of science experiments in a course like this. I have not come to any experiments and hope there are some later in his learning adventure.

Under Drakes Flag Audio Review

Do you and your kids like adventures?  My kids love adventures and we recently used Under Drakes Flag by Heirloom Audio Productions to take a listening adventure in our van, and in our imagination on the high seas.

Analytical Grammar Review

UNDER DRAKE’S FLAG
Audio CD Theater Presentation of Under Drake’s Flag by G.A. Henty
Retails for $29.95 plus shipping
For ages 6 to Adult

Under Drakes Flag is about a famous ship captain named Sir Francis Drake and a boy named Ned who travels on his ship. They have one adventure after the next, and the learning adventures are so fascinating you can’t step away.  The suspense and excitement of these stories keeps you biting your nails, laughing, and learning all the way through.

About the audio production from the website:  “This movie-quality audio theater—recorded in London—features a cast of stellar actors, including acclaimed British actor Brian Blessed, state-of-the art sound design from award-winner Mark Drury (The Chronicles of Narnia audio series), and a stunning music score composed by John Campbell (Lamplighter Theatre®, Focus on the Family Radio Theatre®, Adventures in Odyssey®). Adapted from the book, Under Drake’s Flag, by G.A. Henty”

What we received and how we used it:

We received a two-volume CD set and a small Abridged Study Guide.   The CD’s cover 2 hours of listening divided up between 19 short chapter stories. The chapter stories include: The Opening; The Otter; The Invitation; The Plymouth Harbor; On Board the Poncha; In the Carpenter’s boat; The Voyage in Earnest; The Attack; Treasure and Retreat; Donna Anna; A Lull Before the Storm; The Storm; In Spanish Territory; With The Africans; War with the Spaniards; To The Coast; The Inquisition; Familiar Waters; and Disturb Us Lord.

The abridged study guide includes study helps for each story on the CD’s. For each story you will find: comprehension questions (Listening Well); open-ended questions (Thinking Further); and vocabulary words (Defining Words). There is also a Bible Study section that helps your child understand Godly Character. There is a larger complete study guide available too at www.hentyalive.com/studyguide.

Henty-Inside

We used the Under Drake’s Flag CD’s and Abridged Study Guide for our Sunday learning with our kids. We held faith-based adventures for our Sunday School learning in the van over the course of several Sunday’s and put the CD’s in to listen to while we drove around. The kids pretended our van was a big ship and they too were sailing the seven seas right along with Ned and Sir Francis Drake.

IMG_4828

We are in-between churches right now, and looking for where we FIT IN to serve and fellowship. That concept just sounds strange to me, because everywhere believers in Jesus are, should be a good fit to serve and fellowship, because we are all serving the same Lord. But sadly that is not the case in today’s church.  Sadly we hinder the work of the Lord by wrong attitudes, denominational rules, and looking for differences in people.  We are facing this challenge to learn what God wants from us as a positive opportunity to explore different churches, as well as a great opportunity to lead our own kids in hands on service ministry while teaching them the gospel.  If it is a Sunday that we travel anywhere within an hour of where we live, we put in various bible learning CD’s and faith-based adventure stories for the children to listen to and discuss together.

IMG_4817

I believe Under Drake’s Flag CD’s were a perfect fit for our bible study learning with the kids, because they are mobile (use at home, on the road, or anywhere at any time), they teach Godly character, and show how God is always with us and will help us when we turn to him. We decided to spend every other Sunday visiting a local church (also visiting churches on Wednesday nights), and the other Sunday’s listening to faith-based programs and “doing something” (Mathew West has a great Christian song called Do Something that our kids love), to put our faith in action in a hands on way to meet the needs of others. Basically we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a lost and dying world. Some people may judge us for this decision, to serve outside of the church building on a Sunday, but we believe it is the right decision for our family at this time. Isn’t that what missionaries and traveling Evangelists do? Isn’t this what Jesus did? Did he only sit in the temple and hear bible stories, or did he go out and do something and be the answer to people’s needs? Didn’t Jesus say to go out 2 by 2 and tell everyone about him? Didn’t he say to meet the needs of others by feeding them, visiting them, encouraging them, and more? As we seek the Lord in raising our children, this decision seems like a powerful way to show our children faith in action and what we as the body of Christ need to be doing. Our faith must be courageous and go beyond the church building and into the towns and cities and places people are living if we are truly to be the salt and light in this world.

IMG_4794

This opportunity to be mobile, and use Godly character building audio CD’s like Under Drake’s Flag, has allowed us to encourage our kids to reach outside of our comfort zone, and the four walls of the church building, to trust God and touch the lives of complete strangers. The kids are learning to trust God for the needs of others to pray with them, feed them, and meet some of their physical needs in a tangible way. Some folks we have met are homeless and some are not homeless. Some have given us their address and we have been able to maintain continued correspondence with them and sent them things they needed through the mail too to further their faith. Traveling from place to place in a moving vehical, listening to faith building stories and adventures, really enhances the kids excitement.

The kids were so excited to listen to every word of these stories. They were on the edge of their seat the whole time as Ned experienced one faith building adventure after the next. That is how real life is, one faith building adventure after the next, trusting God all the way to meet your needs and take care of you. With these Heirloom Audio Productions CD’s your kids will follow along on exciting adventures, learn exciting historical facts, learn exciting new vocabulary of historical sailors and pirates, and build an exciting faith.  With Under Drake’s Flag your children will learn right along with Ned to trust God in all things.

Exciting Adventures

Some of the fun, dangerous, yet faith building adventures Ned has with Sir Francis Drake include a shark attack, a shipwreck, he experiences fierce battles on both land and in the sea, and he comes face to face with the Spanish Inquisition.  How scary right?  But Ned allows God to  use each of these experiences to grow his faith.

Exciting History

Sir Francis Drake lived from 1540 to 1596.  He was considered by others as a hero in England but a hated pirate in Spain. He captured 93 Spanish ships as he traveled the globe.  He had a strong faith in God and allowed God to guide him on his journeys and in his conduct.  He helped England defeat the Spanish navy’s invasion of English waters.  He was the first ship captain from England to travel across the world.  Also Queen Elizabeth had Sir Francis Drake knighted which was a huge honor.

Exciting Vocabulary

There are all kinds of words used on this adventure that make it even more of a unique experience your kids will love. Some of the new words my kids learned about include: flag ship, Spanish Inquisition, penance, mainmast, yardman, constellations, soul, leverage, recant and so many more.

Exciting Faith

What excited me the most is how Ned grows from an inexperienced young boy into a young man through all of these challenges he faces on his journey, and how he puts his faith in God instead of being afraid.  It truly is a tale of faith, strength, and courage as much as it is a fun listening adventure.

Botanical Art At Homeschool Coop

We made the coolest Botanical Art project at Homeschool Coop.  This is such a great project to do with kids.  You can frame these, and hang them on your wall, or give these as gifts, or even use them to create other art projects with.  Or you could make really super-duper cool homemade wrapping paper too.

IMG_2459 - Copy

We did this art project outside. You need to be outdoors or in a well ventilated area for this project as the spray paint has a strong odor and also can get blown around by wind. It is a good idea to take turns and not have too many kids spray painting at once and be sure they are spaced a little distance away from each other. Adult supervision and safety measures should be taken with a project like this.

IMG_2460 - Copy

The kids picked out colored paper.  They also picked out various plants and flowers they wanted to use.

IMG_2461 - Copy

They laid out newspapers on the ground and set their colored paper on the newspaper. Then they placed their plant of choice on the paper, and spray painted over it. After a minute or so, they carefully lifted off the plant from the paper and the result was a beautiful reverse silhouette of the plant.

I love these beautiful masterpieces the kids made! I hope to get them framed for the wall in the near future.

Essential Skills Advantage Review

My, my, my… the online curriculum options just keep getting better and better.  We were recently given the opportunity to review Essential Skills Advantage and it is AWESOME!

ESA Logo

Essentials Skills Advantage (ESA) is designed to help kids in K – 6th grades build and strengthen foundational Language Arts and Reading skills. ESA retails for $9.99 a month for a premium membership of 24/7 unlimited advertising free access.

membership

You can try out a free trial of the full version before you buy to see how this wonderful program will work for your family. ESA has just started a free version too that is sponsored with advertising if you don’t mind the ads popping up while learning. For a limited time, you can use the coupon code TOS50 and receive a 50% discount on the full advertising free Premium Membership version, and with your discount your cost would only be $4.99 per month as long as you remained a member.

computer

By strengthening their “essential” skills, and building a strong foundation, kids can learn to master any other curriculum. ESA has over 20,000 learning activities and teaches 38 phoneme sounds, progression from phonics to complete sentences, 220 English words to help your student master the English language that make up to 70% of the words we use in our daily life, learning the meanings and comprehending the outcomes of stories they read, and grammatical rules of spelling.

book

Both kids and parents can keep track of progress. Kids are encouraged to progress and can earn virtual silver and gold stars and printable certificates to keep them motivated to learn.

star

I have set the program to allow each child to work in their current grade, plus work on lessons that are a grade below and a grade above for both review and additional challenge. Both the kids and I are pleased with their progress.

011

ESA is online, but is designed to appeal to all types of learners including visual, auditory, and kinetic learners and works well for on level learning, remedial practice, and is also flexible for those with learning disabilities. The majority of kids can learn to master the essential skills with ESA.

009

I usually have the kids spend 20 to 30 minutes each day doing a spelling, reading comprehension, and vocabulary activity each day on the ESA curriculum. They have their own dashboard on ESA and can choose from several options: vocabulary, spelling, reading comprehension, word puzzles, fill in the blank, grammar, and so on.

short vowels

Once they have completed their lesson they can see the stars they have achieved by answering correctly. Most of the time, the program will not let them progress until they have answered the problem correctly. This method allows them to make mistakes, but also ensures they have learned the correct answer before moving ahead.

IMG_1481

All of my kids love ESA and can’t wait to get on the computer each day. I have them work on two or three assignments per day. It is quick and painless (no whining, no drama, and no tears), and lots of fun. With six kids all waiting for their turn, and excited about their schoolwork, I just wish we had more computers in the house! While one is on the computer the others are doing book work or hands on learning. But even though they have to wait on each other and take turns, they stay excited and motivated to for their opportunity to do their online learning programs. I am thankful!

Oh My! Chocolate Chip Cookies!

This is not your ordinary cookie! Oh no, no, no! These cookies taste like…OH MY!

These are a delicacy! They are so good and crispy on the outside, gooey and chewy on the inside! With just a surprise of CHOCOLATE on your taste buds! Everything and more that your mouth desires in a chocolate chip cookie! Oh my!

Oh My! Chocolate Chip Cookies! by Weiser Academy

Oh My! Chocolate Chip Cookies! by Weiser Academy

Now let’s talk about healthy! These are healthy as well as delicious. Think I’m off my rocker to call a good tasting cookie healthy?  Do you think to have healthy food you have to give up great taste and texture? Nope! Think again!

I know what you are thinking, you have eaten too many hocky pucks labeled cookies and had too many “healthy” cookies crumble in your hands before they get to your mouth, or worse taste like a cotton sock stuck in your throat once you got them in there!  Yeah, I hear your pain!  I know because I have been there, done that, in the name of getting healthy.  You know what I mean if you have used specialty flours to bake with and your cookies came out to dry or gritty!  It makes a person want to say goodbye to cookies all together.

So to reach my personal standard of a “healthy food” category for my family, I try to find foods that meet these criteria:  First and foremost, the ingredients need to be natural.  Can I get an AMEN?!  Did God create them, or were they created in a manufacturing laboratory?  Even if God created them, did some scientist invent a way to alter them, or spay them with poisons to kill off pests?  If they are not a natural product, and they were not raised by a natural process, then forget using them.  Second, they need to be nutrient dense.  They must have a diverse spectrum of nutrients to benefit the human body.

Here is a run down of why these cookie ingredients are healthy foods:
Spouted flours are gluten-free, low carb, phytic acid free, enzyme activated, power house flours
Healthy Free Range Eggs from chickens that roam the land in search of insects and green grass produce Omega 3 rich eggs and have more vitamins and nutrients in them than store-bought eggs.
Quinoa flour is also gluten-free, contains balanced plant proteins, and is high in minerals like calcium and iron.
Almond flour is gluten-free and contains fiber, vitamin E, and more.
Flax meal is high in Omega 3 fatty acids
Butter from grass-fed free range cows is rich in CLA, Vit D, Vit A, essential fatty acids, and numerous vitamins and minerals.
Aluminum free baking soda is alkinalizing to the body.
Sea salt is rich in a whole spectrum of minerals.
Oats help to lower blood pressure and assist the vascular system.
Chocolate has antioxidants that help the body fight free radicals and cancer.
So for all of these reasons, these cookies are a healthy food.

I have altered these gems, to lessen the stress of gluten on the body. I am making them gluten free by using sprouted flour. With a few tweaks, I have increased the protein, amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins, and omega 3 fatty acids from a regular chocolate chip cookie and the amazing thing is you won’t know the difference. Seriously you cannot tell and your husband and kids are going to love them and your body will thank you!

Oh My! Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oh My! Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Ingredients:

Dry Ingredients:
2 cups sprouted wheat or spelt flour (or use all natural wheat or spelt flour)
1 cup quinoa flour
1 cup almond meal flour
1/2 cup flax meal flour
1 1/2 tsp aluminum free baking soda
1 tsp sea salt
2 cups gluten-free quick oats
2 – 3 cups chocolate chips (your choice depending on your preference: semi sweet, dark, skinny chocolate, sugar-free, dairy free, etc.)

Wet Ingredients:
5 medium free rage eggs
2 cups healthy saturated fat. I use grass-fed butter (or 1 1/2 cup butter plus 1/2 cup coconut oil).
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 cups of sweetener of choice. I like to use a sucanant sugar. It is highly nutrient dense. But I also use a stevia erythritol blend to make these cookies a whole lot easier on the blood sugars. You choose! If you want to keep these cookies more like a traditional chocolate chip cookie, try making them with 1 1/2 cups of sucanat and 1 1/2 cups evaporated cane juice.

Method:
Mix healthy fat and sweetener together until light and fluffy. This takes 3 to 5 minutes with a mixer. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix gently and set aside.

Mix flours, baking soda, and sea salt together and stir lightly with a fork to combine. Add flour mixture to the wet ingredients. One cup at a time of the flour mixture, and blend until mixed before adding in the next one.

Add in oats and chocolate chips.

Drop by spoonful onto parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees until done. Remove pan from heat and let cookies cool on pan for 2 minutes, then remove to a wire cooling rack for about 20 minutes until completely cool and store in an air tight container.

Blessings From Praise

Did you know that offering praise to God can bring blessing?

God inhabits your praise, and exchanges your praise for blessings.

God inhabits your praise, and exchanges your praise for blessings.

We frequently speak by faith that Jesus said “where two or more are gathered in his name, he is there in the midst of them”.  We speak this forth knowing with confidence that Jesus is wtih us when believers gather together and he hears our prayer and intercedes for us.

But did you know that Father God also said that he inhabits (dwells/lives in) the praises of his people? God is there with you and he is physically dwelling inside your praise.

There is also an exchange that happens when we praise. An exchange is when you give something and receive something back. There is a promise of blessing according to Psalm 112:1 “The Lord will bless EVERYONE who praises him and gladly obeys his teachings.”

That is awesome! You can receive blessings today, right now!

There are at least 477 verses in the bible that mention praise. That is a whole lot and it is very clear that God wants us to know about praise and what pleases him.

My earnest prayer is that you will take time today, and each day, to give him PRAISE and be BLESSED!

Find P&G Products At Walmart

I am really excited to tell you that I was asked to review P  & G Products at Walmart. I was sent a $100 gift card from P & G (Proctor & Gamble) and asked to pick out three or more P & G products at Walmart.com that my family could use. How awesome is that? It was like Christmas in July!

Walmart.com

Walmart carries a huge list of P & G Products. There is no way I could tell you about all of them, but I am sure you know most of them because P & G has been around for 175 years and has been a household name for generations. Most of us grew up with several P & G products in our home such as Tide, Pampers, Mr. Clean, Charmin and more.

Our family of 8 people has big needs for household items. I appreciate the convenience, variety and savings for the typical household items offered at Walmart.com. I needed diapers, toilet paper and paper towels, so this was a perfect opportunity to stock up on those necessities and try out Walmart’s new online ordering app for the smart phone.

For the purpose of this review, I used the gift card to purchase online:

Technology just keeps changing constantly and Walmart is keeping up with the demands of shoppers by offering an online ordering service at Walmart.com You can order with your smart phone, or you have the option to order from your computer. You can have items shipped to the store for pick up for free, or to your home (or vacation location) for free if you order at least $50 or more. Orders that are less than $50 incur a shipping fee. It really can’t get much simpler than ordering right from your phone and having the things you need shipped right to your door.

I am so glad to know about this service.  I have six kids and it can be a challenge sometimes to take them all to the store.  Inevitably someone will have something on backwards, is fussy, or someone will have a messy face by the time we make it inside the store.  Now I can skip all that drama, and order the household things we need, and shop in my pajama’s while I drink coffee if I want to.   How cool is that?

With the Walmart Mobile Smart Phone App, you can check prices on products from your home or in the store by scanning the bar code, you can speak or type your shopping list, you can re-fill prescriptions, check out the shopping ads and specials, order and pay for items you want, and also read product reviews.

If I go on vacation, I will definitely keep this new mobile phone app in mind.  A few years ago we took a trip to the ocean and stayed at the Isle Of Palms in South Carolina. Being able to order items right on my phone that I had forgot to pack for our trip like laundry soap, and extra diapers and have them delivered to the location we were staying would have saved us a mind boggling trip with fussy kids, into the big city of Charleston where we got temporarily lost on the freeways as we tried to navigate a city we didn’t know and find some household items we really needed. Being able to use your phone to order what you need and have it delivered to you is a wonderful modern time-saving convenience for families.

It is so easy to order P & G products your family needs through Walmart.com
